100% Broken Rice

100% broken rice is made up entirely of the kernel fragments separated during milling, graded by size and sortexed for even colour. It cooks like whole rice at a lower price, is the traditional base of West African dishes such as Senegal's thieboudienne, and is a raw material for rice flour, noodles, brewing, starch and animal feed.

Geodhara International sources 100% broken rice only from mills in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh - the Miryalaguda milling belt in Nalgonda district and the Godavari delta mills around Kakinada port - where it comes from milling the same IR-64, Swarna and Sona Masuri we export. Brokens are offered from raw white and parboiled rice, sortexed, and each lot is tested for moisture, foreign matter and damaged kernels before dispatch.

Exports have been free since March 2025, when DGFT lifted the 2022 prohibition. Our target markets include Senegal, Côte d'Ivoire, the Gambia and Indonesia, where we supply food distributors, flour millers, brewers and feed manufacturers with bulk supply and complete export documentation.

FAQs

Rice made up entirely of broken kernels - the fragments separated from whole grains during milling and polishing. It has the nutrition of whole rice of the same variety, cooks faster and costs less, which is why it is a staple in West Africa and a raw material for rice flour, brewing and feed.
Yes. DGFT Notification No. 61/2024-25 of 7 March 2025 changed the export policy of broken rice (HS 1006 40 00) from prohibited to free, ending the ban imposed in September 2022. The notification sets no minimum export price or quantity limit.
Only from rice mills in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh - the Miryalaguda milling belt in Nalgonda district and the Godavari delta mills that ship through Kakinada. Geodhara International does not own mills, farms or warehouses - we coordinate sourcing, quality checks and export.
Moisture is held at a maximum of 14%. Foreign matter, damaged and yellow kernels and chalky grains are agreed in the contract, and each lot is confirmed by pre-shipment inspection and a lab report. Sortexed brokens are standard.
We pack 100% broken rice in 25 kg and 50 kg PP bags and 1 MT bulk bags, with private-label printing on request.
